Do Kyung Soo is opening up about his close friends Kim Woo Bin and Shin Mina, while also reflecting on his experience working with Lee Kwang Soo.
The actor recently sat down in Jongno, Seoul, to discuss Disney Plus series The Manipulated. The action drama follows Tae Jung (played by Ji Chang Wook), an ordinary man whose life collapses after he is falsely accused of a violent crime. As he learns that everything was orchestrated by Yo Han (Do Kyung Soo), he sets out on a path of revenge.
In The Manipulated, Do Kyung Soo teamed up with longtime friend Lee Kwang Soo, with both actors taking on villain roles. Asked whether acting opposite a close friend felt awkward, he said, “We appeared together in Its Okay, Thats Love, but we never had scenes where we really went head to head. This was my first time seeing him act up close on set. Watching him completely immersed, I realized he was not the hyung I thought I knew.”
He went on to praise his co-star, saying, “His ability to focus in the moment is unbelievable. From a viewer’s perspective, his character was supposed to be unpleasant to watch, and honestly, even on set, he was unpleasant. That just showed how perfectly he pulled it off.” He added, “I thought working with someone I’m close to would be harder, but it actually helped me focus more.”

The conversation then turned to Kim Woo Bin, with Do Kyung Soo sharing what he has observed as a close friend. “I first met Shin Mina at a recent Disney Plus event, and it was for work,” he said. “I’ve known Woo Bin for a long time, so the fact that he’s getting married is something to celebrate. Even without seeing them up close every day, you can tell they’ve been dating in a healthy, happy way.”
Describing the couple’s vibe as “very pink,” he shared a sweet anecdote. “He still gives her flowers on Pepero Day. I asked him what they were for, and he said it was because it was Pepero Day. I thought it was for her birthday.”
Laughing, Do Kyung Soo added, “I’m not that type of person. Seeing him prepare flowers made me think, ‘Wow, he’s really good at these things.’ Watching them, I felt like those two will stay pink forever.”
When asked whether seeing the couple made him think about marriage himself, Do Kyung Soo answered without hesitation, “Not at all. I have no thoughts about it yet.”
