Jang Ki Yong has finally uncovered Ahn Eun Jin‘s long-kept secret—and fans are wondering if this means the romance road is finally opening.
According to Nielsen Korea, episode 8 of SBS’s Dynamite Kiss hit a series-high 7.1% in the Seoul metro area, peaking at 8.5%. Its 20–49 rating also rose to a personal best at 2.41%.
The drama’s emotional spiral began when Gong Ji Hyuk (Jang Ki Yong) announced an engagement to Yoo Ha Young (Woo Da Bi), choosing Go Da Rim’s (Ahn Eun Jin) happiness over his own. But since Ha Young knows Da Rim is neither a wife nor a mom, the rushed engagement sent her into crisis mode.
The news left Da Rim gutted. Thinking Ji Hyuk’s coldness came from the engagement, she acted like nothing was wrong. Ji Hyuk, meanwhile, kept worrying every time she got hurt and only pushed her away harder, and Da Rim ended up crying alone on the sidewalk from the heartbreak.

Things took a turn when the two were stranded overnight on an island with only one room left, a setup by Marketing Team Leader Ma Jong Gu (Park Jin Woo). Their carefully guarded distance began to crumble, and Ji Hyuk had to escape outside just to calm the feelings he couldn’t control.

Back in Seoul, he saw Kim Sun Woo comforting a crying Ha Young and assumed their affair was ongoing. Fueled by jealousy and anger, Ji Hyuk confronted him with his fists and warned, “One more time, and I’ll kill you.”
The truth finally unraveled the day before the engagement, when Ji Hyuk stumbled upon Da Rim, Sun Woo, and Sun Woo’s son, Kim Jun, together. Jun called her “Aunt”—not “Mom.” That’s when everything clicked for him: Da Rim isn’t a mother, and she was never Sun Woo’s wife.
No matter how many lies are told, the truth will come out somehow.
Finally Jihyeok knew the truth. He heard Seonu’s son calling Darim “Auntie”.

Episode 8 ended with Ji Hyuk in shock. Having watched his own mother suffer from his father’s affair, loving a “married woman” felt unbearable to him. But now that the obstacle is gone, it sets up a thrilling turning point and promises the possibility of a true romance between Ji Hyuk and Da Rim.
