Park Na Rae Facing Lawsuit from Former Managers Over Abuse and Unpaid Expenses

Comedian Park Na Rae is facing a legal battle with her former managers, who have filed for a provisional attachment on her real estate assets. The claim amounts to approximately 100 million won ($70,500).
Park’s former managers filed the application with the Seoul Western District Court on December 3rd. They are also preparing a formal lawsuit for damages, alleging severe mistreatment during their employment.
The managers have accused Park of workplace bullying, assault, directing them to handle illegal proxy medical prescriptions and failure to reimburse work-related expenses. They have reportedly submitted evidence of her misconduct to the court.
According to the managers, Park treated them like personal servants. They claim they were forced to be on standby 24 hours a day to run personal errands, such as buying snacks for her drinking parties and cleaning up the mess afterward. They allege she even used them as housekeepers for her family members’ affairs.
One manager claims they were verbally abused for refusing to drink alcohol during these gatherings. The situation allegedly escalated to physical violence, with the manager stating they were injured by a glass thrown by Park in a fit of rage. Additionally, they were reportedly forced to handle illegal medical tasks, such as picking up prescriptions by proxy.
The managers also claim Park failed to settle expenses. “She did not properly reimburse us for personal money spent while working,” they stated, citing unpaid costs for food ingredients and alcohol purchased for her home.
Unable to tolerate the alleged mistreatment, the managers resigned. However, when they requested settlement for the unpaid expenses, they claim the company responded by threatening to sue them for defamation and forgery of private documents.
Explaining the reason for the provisional attachment filing, the managers stated, “Park Na Rae does not acknowledge her wrongdoing. Once the damages lawsuit begins, there is a high probability she will dispose of or conceal her assets.”
In response, a representative from Park Na Rae’s agency told Sports Chosun on December 4th that they are currently preparing a statement with their legal counsel. “It will be released soon,” they stated.
Park Na Rae’s Unregistered Agency Could Bring Her Jail Time
Reports also indicate that Park Na Rae’s agency has been operating without proper registration as a popular culture and arts planning business. The agency reportedly confirmed that an application for registration has now been submitted and is awaiting approval.
Following the end of her exclusive contract with JDB Entertainment last September, Park Na Rae has been active under N Park Co., Ltd., a company established by her mother. It has effectively functioned as her personal agency while the company was originally registered for service and event management.
Under the Act on the Development of the Popular Culture and Arts Industry, entertainers operating as corporations or multi-person businesses must register as a popular culture and arts planning business. Failure to do so can result in legal penalties, including up to two years in prison or fines up to 20 million won.
