Rosé of BLACKPINK has opened up about the extreme lengths she has gone to maintain a private love life.
In a candid new interview on Call Her Daddy, h the singer shared personal stories about her relationships and the heavy toll of public scrutiny.
When asked about her current relationship status, Rosé didn’t shy away. “I am looking for love,” she admitted.
However, she became visibly emotional when discussing the pressure of dating in the public eye. Tearing up, she confessed that answering questions about her love life often brings a flood of negative articles and comments to mind.
“I just want to say ‘yes’ or ‘no,’ but then I think about whether that will define me as a person,” she reflected. “How sad is that reality? Just because I’m from a K-pop group doesn’t mean I’m a different kind of human.”
To avoid the paparazzi and protect her privacy during past relationships, Rosé revealed she resorted to an unconventional method: dressing up as an elderly woman.
“I disguised myself as a grandma and went to his house since we couldn’t go anywhere,” she recounted with a laugh. “For a while, I even had a dedicated space in my home just for grandma’s clothes.”
She didn’t just stop at the outfit—she committed to the role completely. “I would wear wigs and even practiced imitating an elderly person’s walk to make it convincing,” she shared, highlighting the surreal reality of dating as a global idol.
While her love life remains under wraps, her career is hitting new heights. Rosé is currently riding a wave of critical acclaim for her collaboration with Bruno Mars, “APT.,” which has secured major nominations at the 68th Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
