Model Shiho Yano caught attention during the December 2nd broadcast of JTBC’s Two Houses when she revealed that she doesn’t meet her husband, fighter Choo Sung Hoon, regularly.
Appearing as a “one-day partner” alongside host Jang Dong Min, Yano shared why she joined the show. “We’ve been married for 17 years,” she said. “I’m interested in how Korean couples live, and I wanted to observe other marriages to reflect on my own life.”
When asked if Choo Sung Hoon had joined her for the shoot, she replied with a laugh, “He’s really busy. We couldn’t come together,” catching both the MC and viewers off guard.
Jang Dong Min joked that he’d spoken to the MMA fighter the day before and asked where his wife was, and Choo simply replied, “I don’t know; we don’t contact each other.”
Yano quickly clarified that the two do keep in touch—just in their own way. “We don’t talk for long, but we check in with short calls pretty often,” she said. She added that their daughter, Sarang, plays a big role in keeping the family connected: “Since Sarang talks to her dad every day, we end up checking in through her, too.”
Describing their marriage as “freestyle,” Yano said their relationship doesn’t follow traditional expectations, but it works for them. “We’re both busy, but we still care for each other,” she shared, emphasizing that their unconventional routine keeps their bond steady after nearly two decades together.
