K-pop group NewJeans has begun wiping the internet of “NJZ,” the team name adopted during their brief attempt at independent activities. With all members announcing their return to the agency ADOR, speculation is mounting that the group is preparing for a comeback under their original name.
The saga began last November when the group broke away from ADOR, citing an alleged breach of their exclusive contract. By February, they had rebranded as NJZ to promote independently. They even debuted the new moniker at ComplexCon Hong Kong, telling fans, “We are extremely excited to debut on stage as NJZ. This performance marks a very significant moment, and we eagerly look forward to sharing new music.”
However, their independent run was cut short after a court ruled in favor of ADOR in a lawsuit confirming the validity of the group’s contract. All members announced they would return to the agency following the ruling.
Now, the deletion of all NJZ-branded social media accounts suggests that the “NJZ” era is officially over and that ADOR is actively gearing up for the group’s return as NewJeans.
