Disney Plus has released a striking new character poster and teaser video for its upcoming original series Made in Korea, spotlighting Hyun Bin’s intense turn as Baek Ki Tae.
Set in 1970s Korea—an era marked by turmoil and rapid growth—the series follows Baek Ki Tae (Hyun Bin), a man who turns the nation itself into his business model as he claws his way toward wealth and power. Standing in his path is prosecutor Jang Gun Young (Jung Woo Sung), who relentlessly pursues him to the edge in a sweeping clash tied to major events of the time.
Known for his work across film (Confidential Assignment, The Point Men, Harbin) and television (Crash Landing on You), Hyun Bin takes on a new challenge as a section chief within the Korean Central Intelligence Agency who leads a double life—public servant by day, audacious businessman by night. Baek Ki Tae is consumed by ambition, operating at the center of state authority while orchestrating dangerous deals behind the scenes.
The newly unveiled poster shows Hyun Bin wearing an earpiece, his silhouette framed against a shirt shaped like the Korean peninsula. The line “I am a businessman” hints at the shadowy world he navigates and the volatile ambition driving him forward.

The character teaser opens with a black-and-white profile shot of Hyun Bin before his narration cuts in: “Someone has to die for this game to end. And it won’t be me.” The tension mounts as he continues, “I’ll drag down those who hold more power than I do. In the end, I’ll change the world. Because this world has always been a battleground for the powerful—where someone’s death becomes someone else’s opportunity.” His words offer a glimpse into a worldview shaped by an era where might defined justice.
Made in Korea will premiere exclusively on Disney+ with two episodes on December 24th, two more on December 31th, followed by one episode each on January 7th and January 14th, for a total of six episodes.
