Kim Hee Seon recently dished about a secret, private online forum that was once used exclusively by celebrities.
She revealed the story on the October 28th episode of YouTube show Salon Drip 2.
When asked about her past friendship with BIGBANG’s G-Dragon, Kim Hee Seon replied, “We don’t keep in contact anymore. That was a really long time ago.”
G-Dragon had previously referred to Kim Hee Seon as “grandmother,” but also stated, “I’ve known Hee Seon since before my debut. She was very fond of me and bought me many meals.”
Kim Hee Seon explained how they all met: “G-Dragon must have been a high school student at the time. Years ago, there was a private internet cafe just for celebrities. The forum manager was also a celebrity, and you had to be verified to get a membership.”
She continued, “It was just a space for us to have casual conversations. That’s where I first met G-Dragon and Se7en. At the time, I was in my 30s and Se7en was in his 20s. Because of the big age difference, I affectionately called Se7en ‘son’.”
She then burst out laughing, remarking, “Se7en is in his 40s now! He still feels like a baby to me. I half-expect him to show up wearing Heelys. I guess I’ve just been around for a long time.”
Kim Hee Seon also divulged some of the drama from the forum: “When members dated and then broke up, it would cause a huge commotion. People would dramatically announce, ‘I’m leaving!’ or ‘No, I’m staying!’ If I ever had a hunch like, ‘This person is about to make headlines,’ it always came true.”
When host Jang Do Yeon asked if the forum still exists, Kim Hee Seon replied, “It’s gone now. It disbanded a long time ago.”
