Netflix has poured cold water—at least for now—on speculation that its hit medical drama The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call will film Seasons 2 and 3 back-to-back.
Responding to media reports, Netflix told JoyNews24 on September 23rd, “While sequels are under discussion, nothing has been confirmed regarding the production of Season 2 or Season 3.”
The Trauma Code follows Baek Kang Hyuk, a genius surgeon and former battlefield doctor, who joins a floundering trauma team and fights to revive it against all odds. The series is adapted from the web novel of the same name by ENT specialist–turned-writer Lee Nak Joon.
The show premiered worldwide in January and quickly found an audience, earning strong reviews and vaulting leading man Ju Ji Hoon—joined by rising stars Choo Young Woo and Ha Young—into the spotlight. Anticipation for a second season surged immediately after its debut.
Earlier, original novelist Lee Nak Joon also noted that the drama was created with Seasons 2 and 3 in mind, further fueling expectations.
For now, Netflix confirms only that sequels are “under review.”
