Lee Ha Nee made a surprise in-person appearance at the press conference for her new Netflix series, Aema. She was originally scheduled to join the event by video call, but made a last-minute decision to attend in person.
Lee Ha Nee shared that the initial plan was just a precaution. “My doctors thought the baby might arrive a bit earlier than expected, so I wasn’t sure if I would be able to attend,” she explained. “I really wanted to be here for the press conference, but I had originally planned to join remotely just in case I couldn’t keep my promise.”
She then laughed, “But based on how I felt yesterday, it didn’t seem like the baby was coming today, so I told them I would be here!”
She added with a smile that her passion for the project was the main reason she came. “More than anything, this series, Aema, means so much to me. Even though I’m pregnant, I really wanted to greet the reporters and viewers in person. My due date is next week, and I’m feeling very healthy right now.”
Set to premiere on Netflix on August 22nd, Aema tells the story of the controversial creation of an erotic film that took Korea by storm in the 1980s. Lee Ha Bee stars as Heeran, a top actress, alongside Bang Hyo Rin, Jin Seon Kyu, and Jo Hyun Chul.
