Upcoming fantasy-action blockbuster Omniscient Reader: The Prophet is heating up the global stage before even hitting theaters. The film has already been pre-sold in 113 countries, signaling strong international demand and setting the stage for what could be Korea’s next global hit.
Based on the massively popular web novel of the same name, Omniscient Reader tells the story of Kim Dok Ja (Ahn Hyo Seop), a man who’s spent over a decade reading a novel—only to wake up one day and find that the fictional world has become reality. As the sole reader who knows how it ends, he joins forces with the story’s original protagonist, Yoo Jung Hyuk (Lee Min Ho), to survive a destroyed world filled with apocalyptic chaos.
Packed with mind-bending lore, high-stakes action, and a one-of-a-kind fantasy concept, the film has already gained buzz among fans in and outside of Korea. Its global rollout proves it: alongside its Korean release on July 23rd, the movie is hitting theaters across Asia, North America, and Europe—including rare theatrical releases in countries like Germany, where Korean cinema traditionally sees limited screens.
The global release schedule kicks off July 23rd in Taiwan, followed by Indonesia on July 30th, then Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, and New Zealand on July 31st. August 1st brings releases in the United States, Canada, and Vietnam, with Cambodia following on August 5th and the Philippines on August 6th.
