Korea’s TVING has confirmed the exclusive domestic release of Love Is for the Dogs, a Korea–Japan co-produced romance drama developed in partnership with Studio Dragon and Japan’s TBS. This marks the first-ever joint project between the two major studios.

Love Is for the Dogs follows three unlikely individuals—a third-generation Korean chaebol, a Japanese veterinarian, and a lawyer—whose lives become intertwined through a mysterious dog harboring a long-buried secret. Despite their different careers, cultures, and personalities, they gradually move past misunderstanding and conflict to form deep friendships and begin healing old wounds.

The 10-episode series stars Na In Woo, known for his performances in Marry My Husband and Motel California; rising Japanese actress Kaya Kiyohara, who gained popularity through TBS’s Silent; and acclaimed actor Ryo Narita, a Japan Academy Prize winner. It’s adapted from the Naver webtoon Doggy Romance—originally published by Studio TooN, a TBS subsidiary based in Korea.

“‘Love Is for the Dogs’ captures delicate emotional threads created when Korean and Japanese sensibilities and cultures intersect around companion animals,” an official from TVING noted. “As TVING continues to expand its international reach, we’re focused on delivering rich and resonant content experiences for viewers across cultures.”

The series will premiere Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025, at 11 PM KST, with new episodes streaming exclusively on TVING every Wednesday.
