Netflix’s Culinary Class Wars Season 2 is currently filming for a fall release despite ongoing controversies surrounding restaurateur Paik Jong Won.
According to industry sources, Culinary Class Wars 2 is targeting an October premiere. Production began in late March and is progressing smoothly, with Paik Jong Won and chef Anh Sung Jae returning as judges for the second season.
However, Netflix has stated, “While we’re planning for a release in the latter half of the year, no specific launch date has been finalized yet.”
There had been concerns that Paik’s broadcasting activities might be affected after his company, The Born Korea, became embroiled in several controversies. Despite these issues, filming for Culinary Class Wars 2 and his other major programs continues largely uninterrupted.
Beyond Culinary Class Wars 2, Paik was recently spotted filming tvN’s show The Genius Paik 3 in France, with images appearing online on the 27th.
Meanwhile, MBC’s Antarctic Chef (literal title), which was scheduled to air in April, faced rumors of indefinite postponement. However, the network clarified that “the scheduling adjustment was due to news specials and early presidential election coverage,” adding that “an exact broadcast date will be announced once confirmed.”
