Kim Bora shared a heartfelt letter and video in memory of the late Kim Sae Ron.
Posting on her Instagram Story, Kim Bora wrote, “You were 11 and I was 16 when we first met at an audition. You found me so interesting for some reason and just wouldn’t stop chatting away next to me. That’s how it started—then you became a middle schooler, a high schooler and suddenly you were the one picking me up in a car.”
She continued, “You always loved receiving letters, even when it wasn’t your birthday. It was fun, you know—scribbling them out by hand or tapping them into my phone, just for you. Flipping through my old photo album today, I can see how sentimental I got about it all. You always hated the cold. And of course, it’s raining today of all days. I can almost hear you laughing, telling me not to trip over myself with this. Here’s your letter anyway, silly. Take it.”
Kim Bora also posted a short video clip of her and Kim Sae Ron laughing together, both sporting pink hair. Alongside the clip, she wrote, “Joron, you little chatterbox—back then, you’d talk so much you hardly touched your food. Now, how about you eat first and save the stories for after, okay?”
She also shared a quote to her Story that read, “Even if it’s someone you’ll never see again, the moments you spent together still have meaning in their own way.”
Kim Bora and Kim Sae Ron had a close bond, having known each other since their days as child actors.
Kim Sae Ron passed away on February 16th. Following her passing, her family alleged that actor Kim Soo Hyun had dated her since she was a minor and that his agency pressured her to repay damages related to her past DUI incident. They also released evidence to support these claims.
Initially, Kim Soo Hyun denied ever dating her, but later acknowledged that they had been in a relationship for about a year during her adulthood. At a press conference held on March 31st, he denied having dated her as a minor or pressuring her to pay off debts, claiming he had no responsibility for her death.
He has since filed a criminal complaint for defamation against Kim Sae Ron’s family and YouTuber Kim Se Ui of the Garosero Research Institute, also known as Hover Lab Inc. He is also pursuing a civil lawsuit seeking 12 billion KRW (approximately $8.2 million) in damages.
