Way Back Love (April 3rd)

Way Back Love, which made its debut at last year’s Busan International Film Festival to an enthusiastic response, is a youth romance drama based on a novel of the same name. The story follows 24-year-old Hee Wan, who’s lost all will to live, until his first love Ram Woo suddenly reappears—as a grim reaper. Kim Min Ha and Gong Myung portray the star-crossed lovers, capturing both the butterflies of their past romance and the stark contrast of their changed present, painting a tender portrait of first love’s fluttery spark and aching heartbreak. Let’s hope it rides the momentum from Busan all the way to success.

Karma (April 4th)

Karma is a crime thriller that explores the inescapable web of ill-fated connections between six individuals. From a witness to a suspicious accident, to a doctor plagued by nightmares, a virtual currency investor drowning in debt, a jobless man offered a shady fortune, a successful man whose life is shattered in an instant, and his lover—each of them becomes entangled in a chain of sinister fate. Based on a popular webtoon, the series stars Park Hae Soo, Shin Mina, Lee Hee Jun, Kim Sung Kyun, Lee Kwang Soo, and Gong Seung Yeon, each taking on unexpected roles as characters caught in the cycle of karma.

Crushology 101 (April 4th)

Roh Jeong Eui steps into the lead of a cartoonish romance in Crushology 101. After her first relationship ends on a bitter note, Ba Ni suddenly finds herself the center of attention from a string of irresistible men. Lee Chae Min, Cho Jun Young, Kim Hyun Jin, and Hong Min Gi play the swoon-worthy guys who enter Ba Ni’s life. The classic rom-com chaos of “who will she choose?” may be a familiar formula, but big chances are, you won’t be able to stop watching till the very end.

Resident Playbook (April 12th)

After delays caused by last year’s resident doctor strike, Resident Playbook is finally ready to meet audiences. A spinoff of Hospital Playlist, this new series focuses on five OB-GYN residents. Rising star Go Youn Jung leads the cast, joined by Shin Si A, Kang You Seok, Han Ye Zee, and Jung Jun Won as first-year residents. With the strike still unresolved and tvN’s weekend drama slump continuing after the failure of When the Stars Gossip, all eyes are on whether Resident Playbook can carry the popularity of the franchise forward. Global release on Netflix.

Haunted Palace (April 18th)

Yook Sung Jae and Bona will be leading Haunted Palace, a fantasy historical drama. The story follows a shaman who rejects her fate and a vengeful serpent deity trapped in the body of her first love, as they face off against a cursed spirit with a grudge against the royal family. In his first historical drama, Yook takes on dual roles as Yoon Gap, a man possessed by the serpent deity. Bona plays Yeo Ri, born with spiritual powers, and together they navigate a romance fraught with love and hate. If you enjoyed Lovers of the Red Sky with Kim Yoo Jung and Ahn Hyo Seop, this one’s worth the wait.

Heavenly Ever After (April 19th)

Son Suk Ku stars opposite veteran actress Kim Hye Ja in Heavenly Ever After, where they play a married couple defying age and expectations. The story begins when 80-year-old Lee Hae Sook arrives in heaven—only to reunite with her husband Ko Nak Joon, who has returned to his youthful 30s form. With its fresh take on life in the afterlife and an unexpected casting duo, the drama is already turning heads. Han Ji Min also appears in the teaser as a mysterious character who stirs up the heavenly couple’s peaceful afterlife. Global release on Netflix.

Pump Up The Healthy Love (April 30th)

Pump Up The Healthy Love is set in a 24-hour gym where a relentlessly driven gym owner ends up fixing more than just his clients’ fitness routines. Lee Jun Young plays Do Hyun Jung, a former celebrity bodybuilder who unexpectedly becomes the manager of a rundown gym, marking another comedic turn following Dreaming of a Freaking Fairy Tale. Jeong Eun Ji plays Lee Mi Ran, a woman who starts working out on a whim after a bad breakup, bringing her signature down-to-earth comedy to the role.
