The March 9th broadcast of MBC’s variety show Good Day featured a reunion of BIGBANG members that sent viewership numbers through the roof.
The segment showing G-Dragon visiting Taeyang’s concert and meeting with fellow members scored the show’s highest ratings, hitting 4.8% according to Nielsen Korea.
During the episode, G-Dragon opened up about the creative pressure he’s facing for the show’s music project. “Now is the time to create (a group song). I had envisioned something grand and powerful, but after meeting with the members, I’m thinking I might have been hasty in going in that direction,” he admitted.
He continued expressing his concerns, saying, “The first step needs to be right, but it’s a lot of pressure. Even though I suggested starting this, I want to back out of ‘Good Day.’ When everyone says ‘You’ll figure it out,’ it makes me feel even more burdened.” Carrying these worries, G-Dragon visited Taeyang’s concert venue where he happily greeted both Taeyang and Daesung.
When Daesung asked, “Have you written the song?” G-Dragon responded, “We gotta work together. You guys need to inspire me.” Hering this, Taeyang delivered a reality check, saying, “It seems like nothing has been done at all.”
G-Dragon laughed off the comment, saying, “This is why I love the members. Please leave ideas in our group chat.” He added, “If this was our song, I could easily divide the parts, but with the roasters of artists participating, it’s challenging.”
The episode showed the official start of the Good Day meeting with the BIGBANG members, and with appearances from chef Anh Sung Jae and SEVENTEEN unit BSS, the project’s outline began to take shape.
