April’s must-watch fantasy romance Way Back Love is on its way.

The upcoming TVING series has released a teaser trailer and poster capturing a page of memories between Ram Woo (Gong Myung) and Hee Wan (Kim Min Ha), heightening anticipation for the series.

Way Back Love is a fantasy romance that unfolds when Hee Wan, who has turned her back on the world and let her youth slip away, is confronted by her first love Ram Woo, who appears before her as a grim reaper.

Based on the beloved novel of the same name by author Seo Eun Chae, the story portrays a sparkling week where the romance-filled past intersects with a changed present. Director Roh Deok, who has definitively shown her unique style in Very Ordinary Couple and Glitch, serves as creator, while Kim Hye Young, director of Be Melodramatic, takes the helm, exciting drama fans. Above all, expectations are high for the reliable lineup that will solidly carry the story, including Gong Myung, Kim Min Ha, Jung Gun Joo, and Oh Woo Ri.

Way Back Love, which was invited to last year’s Busan International Film Festival’s “On Screen” section where it received enthusiastic responses, has confirmed its premiere date for April 3rd. First, the teaser poster captures attention with the ticklish excitement of first love. The phrase “our story that began like an April Fool’s joke,” and the memory of the two exchanging name tags stimulate curiosity.

Gong Myung plays Ram Woo, who reappears before his first love as a grim reaper, while Hee Wan, who changed the quiet and introverted Ram Woo, is played by Kim Min Ha.

The story of Ram Woo and Hee Wan shines even more in the trailer. When a friend calls out Ram Woo’s name, it’s none other than Hee Wan who turns around. Unlike the uncomfortable Ram Woo, Hee Wan seems genuinely committed to this prank. During gym class, Hee Wan pushes Ram Woo aside and runs up, shouting, “I’m Kim Ram Woo!” to receive the ball, adding playfulness to the scene.

The quiet Ram Woo soon becomes influenced by the mischievous Hee Wan. “Falling someone was a good thing,” Ram Woo’s narration accompanies the happy moments of youth. However, the situation soon takes a turn. Hee Wan’s changed appearance, lying in a dark room with zero motivation, suggests an ominous transformation. The person who visits this changed Hee Wan is none other than Ram Woo, who left the world four years ago. Ram Woo telling the surprised Hee Wan, “I came because there’s something I must tell you,” raises expectations for the unpredictable story ahead.

Meanwhile, TVING Original series Way Back Love will release episodes 1 and 2 on TVING on Thursday, April 3rd.
