Kim Min Hee is reportedly expecting her first child. According to Dispatch on January 17th, the actress is set to give birth this spring.
Reports suggest that Kim naturally conceived with Hong Sang Soo around mid-2023, learning of her pregnancy in the summer. She is currently six months along.
Kim and Hong are living together in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province. Hong has moved out of his Gangnam home, previously shared with his wife, and relocated to a new residence in Hanam near Kim’s parents.
On January 15th, the couple was spotted visiting an obstetrics clinic together. Hong has been actively involved, accompanying Kim to her pregnancy confirmations, tests, and checkups.

The pair has also been seen on casual outings, such as dining at popular Seoul restaurants and shopping in Hanam. Kim is often seen driving while Hong rides in the passenger seat. Reportedly, Hong is taking driving lessons in preparation for the baby’s arrival.
Born in 1982, Kim is 22 years younger than Hong, who was born in 1960. The two began their relationship after Kim starred in Hong’s 2015 film Right Now, Wrong Then. They publicly confirmed their romance in 2017.
Hong, who married a non-celebrity in 1985, has one daughter. In 2016, he filed for divorce but was denied in 2019, as South Korea’s laws do not permit the spouse at fault to initiate divorce proceedings.
Since then, Hong has been living with Kim for the past nine years. The baby is expected to be listed as an illegitimate child under Hong’s family registry, with his legal wife recorded as the biological mother. Alternatively, Kim may register the baby independently under her family registry.
Following her public acknowledgment of their relationship, Kim has exclusively appeared in Hong’s films, including The Day After, Hotel by the River, The Woman Who Ran, A Traveler’s Needs, and By the Stream. In August 2022, she won Best Actress at the 77th Locarno Film Festival for her performance in By the Stream.
