Disney Plus has just released new character stills of Park Bo Young in her role as Nurse Yeong Ji for the upcoming series Light Shop, and the images reveal a captivating mix of warmth and fear.
Light Shop tells the story of a mysterious shop at the end of a dark alley, where customers with peculiar secrets visit. Park Bo Young’s character, Yeong Ji, is dedicated to the well-being of her patients, never losing her smile despite the grueling 24-hour shifts in the ICU. However, the newly released stills also reveal a more chilling side, as Yeong Ji is seen with a look of deep fear—leaving fans wondering what terrifying event has shaken her.
When asked what drew her to the project, Park Bo Young shared, “I had already read the webtoon by Kangfull, so I trusted the material. Plus, with Kim Hee Won as the director, there was no hesitation on my part.” She added, “The set had such a warm environment, which made me feel like I could do anything,” further raising expectations for her upcoming performance.
Writer Kangfull also expressed his excitement about casting Park Bo Young, saying, “I needed someone who could brighten the dark tone of the story, and when Park Bo Young was cast, I was overjoyed. Watching the results, I knew she was the perfect fit.” Director Kim Hee Won added, “I was excited to see a new side of her in this project. I’m so grateful she joined us,” giving a heartfelt nod to the actress.
Light Shop is the fifth installment of Kangfull’s “Mystery Psychological Thriller” series, which has garnered over 150 million views and continues to receive acclaim from fans worldwide. Directed by actor Kim Hee Won in his directorial debut, the show features an ensemble cast including Ju Ji Hoon, Park Bo Young, Seolhyun, Um Tae Goo, and Kim Min Ha, and more.
