Six months after initial reports of an extramarital affair, actor Kang Kyung Joon has finally addressed the controversy.
His legal representative clarified to news outlet Newsis on July 24th that Kang and his wife, Jang Shin Young, are maintaining their marriage with no plans for divorce. Notably, the actor’s side clarified that he did not admit to the alleged infidelity.
The lawsuit against Kang concluded with an “admission of claim,” a legal term indicating the defendant acknowledged all or part of the plaintiff’s claims. Once officially recorded, this carries the same legal weight as a final judgment. Yesterday, the actor finally broke his silence about the affair allegations and issued an apology, which many interpreted as him admitting to the affair.

In light of the recent developments, the production team behind The Return of Superman has decided to remove all episodes featuring Kang Kyung Joon and his family from streaming platforms. This includes KBS, Waave, and major Korean portals. The comment section on their official YouTube channel has also been disabled.
The swift action comes as a direct response to Kang Kyung Joon’s implicit acknowledgment of the affair allegations. Initially hesitant to take drastic measures, the production team prioritized the well-being of the couple’s minor children, who could be negatively impacted by the ongoing controversy.
OSEN reported on July 25th that the production team’s decision was made immediately following the conclusion of Kang Kyung Joon’s lawsuit. Previously, the production team had cautiously responded to the controversy, stating, “We will discuss it after the case is completely resolved.” However, their stance has shifted dramatically following Kang Kyung Joon’s implicit acknowledgment of the affair.
