The BBC’s Burning Sun documentary has put Seungri and Jung Joon Young on the hot seat again, with attention mounting about their current whereabouts.

Yesterday, journalist Kang Kyung Yoon, who played a crucial role in bringing the shocking news to light in 2019, shared their post-prison activities during an interview on SBS’s radio show. She revealed that the BBC’s production process began approximately three years ago. Initially hesitant to take on the project, Kang was persuaded by the idea that “it’s necessary to address the issues that happened in K-pop before it grows even bigger.”

She revealed that Seungri and Jung Joon Young have both been released from prison, with Seungri focusing on business expansion using his past fame, and Jung Joon Young considering emigrating. This is the first time Jung Joon Young’s whereabouts have been made public since his release on March 19th, 64 days after leaving prison.

Kang further expressed her belief that “the social system that imprisons victims as criminals is wrong” and that she hopes the BBC documentary will be a stepping stone to rectify that. She emphasized that only a few have been officially punished while there are many more victims.

Later in the afternoon, Xports reported that Jung Joon Young has been meeting with music industry figures in an attempt to make a comeback to the entertainment scene. Aware of the negative public reaction following his release, he is reportedly seeking a fresh start as a music producer.

  • Culture and government different from US , makes it hard if not impossible to comment over this issue I’m just happy to see these artists out of prison , I would like to see them back to work in entertainment they have great influence and can make Korea proud and their fan base is nothing to disregard . Korea wake up they did their time, if they were not rehabilitated then your system doesn’t work and your youth will see the failure and waste of taxpayers money. With great joy I hope to seeing and hearing their talent again. Always their fan.💋💋
