On the set of tvN’s hit drama Queen of Tears, the chemistry between leads Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won isn’t just for the cameras. Recently, supporting actor Lee Sang Jin shared a glimpse of the duo’s real-life rapport at a cast dinner, delighting fans with their off-screen camaraderie.
Lee took to social media to post about the gathering, writing, “Baekhong and the Queens’ secretarial team dinner. Early in the shoot, the secretarial team and lead actors Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won had a group dinner. I drank way too much, phew” along with a photo from the event.
The two stars, who appeared in matching black outfits, seemed to be the life of the party, enhancing team spirit right from the start of filming. Despite apparently enjoying the festivities, a water glass in front of Kim Ji Won suggested her commitment to maintaining strict self-discipline during filming.
Since premiering on March 9th with a rating of 5.9%, Queen of Tears has rapidly climbed the ratings ladder. Just four episodes in, the show hit a 13.0% rating and reached 19.0% by the tenth episode. By its twelfth episode on the 14th, it successfully peaked at 20.7%, positioning it close to breaking the record set by writer Park Ji Eun’s previous hit, Crash Landing on You, and potentially setting a new all-time high for tvN.
