The upcoming historical drama series Murky Water (literal title) is slated to start its shoot in May, following an all-cast table read earlier the same month. The drama features a promising ensemble including Rowoon, Shin Ye Eun, and Park Seo Ham.

Murky Water unfolds in the bustling economic hub of Mapo Naru on the Han River during the Joseon Dynasty. The series narrates the rise of a man from a street thug to a legendary figure in Joseon, promising an intense fictional historical narrative.

This marks the first drama directed by Choo Chang Min, known for his acclaimed film Masquerade. The script is penned by Cheon Sung Il, who has an impressive repertoire including The Slave Hunters, LUCA: The Beginning, and All of Us Are Dead.

Rowoon and Shin Ye Eun are set to lead the series. Rowoon has previously showcased his acting prowess in the historical genre through The King’s Affection and The Matchmakers, while Shin Ye Eun received accolades for her role in The Secret Romantic Guesthouse. Their on-screen chemistry is highly anticipated in Murky Water.

Additionally, Semantic Error star Park Seo Ham, following his military discharge, marks his acting return with this series, further heightening the excitement around the drama’s production.
