The scandal involving actor Kang Kyung Joon and a woman identified only as A has escalated, with recent developments indicating professional repercussions for A. After being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with Kang, A is reportedly absent without leave from her workplace.
According to a report by Ilyo News on the 12th, A has not been attending her job following the surfacing of her alleged affair with Kang Kyung Joon. This prompted her employer, a real estate firm, to issue a warning of potential termination. Despite this notice, she has continued her unexplained absences. As a matter of fact, Kang Kyung Joon himself had worked at this company for about six months, driven by his interest in the field.
Last month, Kang Kyung Joon faced a lawsuit demanding 50 million KRW (approx. 42,000 USD) in damages for alleged adultery with the married A. Further complicating matters, leaked Telegram conversations between Kang and A were made public on the 8th, as reported by Sports Chosun. These messages included intimate remarks from Kang to A, such as “I want to hold you,” “I love you, [A’s nickname] ♥,” and “I’d rather be with you without drinking. Alcohol is just an excuse.”
Initially, Kang Kyung Joon’s agency, K-Star Global ENT, acknowledged receipt of the complaint and hinted at a possible misunderstanding. However, following the revelation of the conversations, the agency paused discussions on extending Kang’s contract, citing the need to resolve the current incident first.
Kang Kyung Joon married the actress Jang Shin Young in 2018. The couple has been raising Jang’s son from her previous marriage and their son together. Their life has been featured in popular shows like SBS’s Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 and KBS2’s The Return of Superman, winning the hearts of many viewers.
