Kang Kyung Joon‘s management agency, K-Star Global, has responded to allegations of adultery involving the actor, stating there have been some misunderstandings.
On January 3rd, K-Star Global stated, “We can confirm that Kang Kyung Joon received the complaint today. After reviewing the contents, we believe there is room for misunderstanding, and the company plans to respond accordingly.”
Earlier that day, a media outlet reported that Kang Kyung Joon was sued for damages on December 26th last year over allegations of an affair with a married woman, A. The plaintiff claimed, “Kang Kyung Joon engaged in infidelity despite knowing A was married,” adding, “I’ve submitted evidence to prove this.” The claimed damages are known to be 50 million won (approx. 41,000 USD).
Kang Kyung Joon debuted in the 2004 MBC sitcom Nonstop 5 and married actress Jang Shin Young in 2018, whom he met in the drama Flower of Revenge. Kang has been admired for lovingly raising the son Jang Shin Young had with her former husband. While the truth of the allegations has not yet been confirmed, the mere news of the lawsuit has shocked many.
Currently, Kang is appearing on KBS’s The Return of Superman with his second son. Up to last week’s broadcast, his family was featured on the show. The show’s production team told Ilgan Sports on the 4th, “There are no pre-recorded segments with Kang Kyung Joon at the moment, and there were no plans for future shoots,” and “Plans for future filming will be discussed after this case is fully resolved.”
