SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi, Dokyeom, Joshua, and Mingyu guest-starred on the latest episode of the YouTube show “Pinggyego,” released on the 24th.
The conversation took a nostalgic detour when the hosts, Yoo Jae Suk and Ji Suk Jin, reminisced about their 30-year friendship. Yoo confessed, “We don’t see each other as often as you might think. We’re close, but we only call each other now and then, and we hardly ever remember each other’s birthdays.” To which Ji wryly asked, “You guys don’t celebrate each other’s birthdays, do you?”
SEVENTEEN quickly denied, “No, we definitely celebrate.” Ji seemed stunned, asking, “Really? But then there must be a birthday every month!”
Hoshi spilled the deets. “It started with my birthday. We buy whatever the birthday boy wants. They write what they want in the group chat, and we all pitch in.” Adding a cheeky note, he said, “With 13 members, it adds up to quite a lot.”
Yoo calculated, “Even if each member pitches in just 50,000 KRW (approx. 42 USD), that’s over 500,000 KRW!” Mingyu cautioned, “True. If everyone chips in 1,000,000 KRW (approx. 840 USD), it’ll exceed 10,000,000 KRW. We really have to be careful.” Dokyeom agreed, “The cost of gifts is getting too high these days,” while Hoshi admitted, “We’ve set a price cap because it’s getting too expensive.”
But wait, there’s more! In the same episode, Yoo questioned Mingyu about his siblings, to which he revealed he has a younger sister. When asked about their relationship, Mingyu boasted, “We get along great. She even says her dream guy is someone like me and wants to marry a guy like me.” The admission left everyone flabbergasted. Hearing that, Yoo commented, “Well, you are very handsome.” To which Dokyeom chimed in, “But his personality is really good too.”
Continuing the conversation, Yoo asked, “Do you drink with your sister every day?” Mingyu responded, “Not every day. Once or twice a week,” surprising everyone.
