Kim Da Mi and Son Suk Ku are set to star in creator Yoon Jong Bin’s new drama project.

According to a report from Sports Chosun on May 26th, Kim Da Mi will star in a new drama called Nine Puzzle (literal title). The drama revolves around Jo Ina, who is both a witness and a suspect in a murder case. The story takes a turn as she becomes a profiler ten years later and embarks on a journey to uncover the truth of what happened on that fateful night.

Kim Da Mi portrays Jo Ina, a murder witness and suspect who later becomes a profiler. For the past six years, Jo Ina has been working as a detective in the Scientific Investigation and Crime Analysis Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police. She can quickly discern the motives of criminals at crime scenes, almost as if she had committed the crime herself. Ten years ago, Jo Ina witnessed the murder of her beloved uncle, who was like a parent to her. Now, all eyes are on how the story will unfold as she endeavors to uncover the truth behind that haunting night.

Nine Puzzle marks the second drama directed by Yoon Jong Bin, who previously worked on Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time, Kundo: Age of the Rampant and The Spy Gone North, after Netflix’s Narco Saints.

Lee Eun Mi will pen the script and Kakao Entertainment will present the series.

Son Suk Ku, who was initially planning to hop on series Lost in Translation by the Hong Sisters, will now be joining the cast of Nine Puzzle.

Son will play the character Han Sam, an elite police officer with determination and sharp instincts hidden beneath his seemingly relaxed personality. Unlike most police officers who only pay attention to surface-level details, Han Sam finds fascination in the hidden sides of people. He initially believed Ina to be a suspect, but he faces uncertainty and confusion as he becomes involved in the events of that day.
