GOT7’s Jinyoung will be enlisting in the military on May 8th. Born in 1994, the 30-year-old star will be entering the recruit training center to receive basic military training.
The day before, Jinyoung revealed a photo of his newly cut short hair on social media. Jinyoung is the second member of GOT7 to enlist, following JB. BamBam cheered him on, saying, “Take care and come back safely, bro. I’ll be waiting for you.”

There is no official event scheduled for Jinyoung’s enlistment. His agency, BH Entertainment, asked for understanding, saying, “There will be no separate official event to minimize crowding on the day of his enlistment, and we ask for your understanding that he will be entering privately for safety reasons. Since the enlistment ceremony at the recruit training center is a private event that involves many soldiers and their families, we kindly request that fans refrain from visiting the site.”
Regarding his enlistment, Jinyoung personally said, “I promise to stay healthy and have many new experiences while thinking of all of you. I’ll come back as a better person. I’m always grateful for everything, and I love you all.”
