‘Doctor Cha’ and ‘Dr. Romantic 3’ Impress Viewers With Ratings Surge

Doctor Cha and Dr. Romantic 3 are leading the ratings on the small screen.

 

JTBC’s Doctor Cha started off with an average nationwide rating of 4.9 percent and reached 13.2 percent on its sixth episode.

In episode 6, the show depicted the journey of surgical resident Cha Jung Sook (played by Uhm Jung Hwa), who grows into a professional doctor despite her husband Seo In Ho’s (Kim Byung Chul) interruptions and disrespect. Viewers were pleased to see her striving to become the doctor of her dreams despite the challenges.

Additionally, the episode showed a change in the relationship between Cha Jung Sook, Seo In Ho, Choi Seung Hee (Myung Se Bin), and Roy (Min Woo Hyuk), leaving the viewers curious about what will happen next. The episode ended with Choi Seung Hee intentionally flaunting her bracelet in front of Cha Jung Sook and Roy visiting her after discovering Seo In Ho’s double life and giving him a sharp warning.

SBS’ Dr. Romantic 3, which returned after three years, kicked off with a viewership rating of 12.7 percent and rose to 13.8 percent on its second episode, making it the highest-rated mini-series on Saturday.

In episode 2, Kim Sa Bu (Han Suk Kyu) faced the dilemma of saving his patients despite the repatriation order of North Korean defectors, pulling at the heartstrings of viewers. The show depicted the hardships of Kim Sa Bu as he struggled to balance his duty as a doctor and the harsh reality of having to give up his patients for political reasons.
