All eyes are on what BIGBANG’s Seungri will be up to after being released from prison on February 11th.
The singer was put on trial on charges of using approximately $1.88 million (about 2.4 billion won) for gambling from December 2013 to August 2017. He was found guilty at the trial and was sentenced to a year and six months in prison.
Seungri was then transferred to a civilian prison after serving his time in a military prison during his enlistment.
Given the prison sentence and allegations against him, people wonder if he’ll ever return to the K-pop scene, with most assuming it won’t be possible any time soon.
The “Burning Sun Scandal,” which involves the idol, has come as a major blow to his image. Industry insiders also believe it will be difficult for him to return to the industry without the time and effort to reverse the public opinion on the singer after his discharge from prison.
