Did Dior Sponsor Netflix’s ‘The Glory’?

A total of 14 luxury brands were featured in Netflix’s hit drama The Glory, including Chanel and Louis Vuitton. Out of all brands featured in the show, Dior left the strongest impression on viewers.

In the drama, Park Ji Yeon (played by Lim Ji Yeon) asks, “You had three arranged matches, including me. Why did you pick me?” To which Ha Do Yeong (Jung Sung Il) replies, “You were wearing the least amount of clothing. But they were all from Dior.”

Viewers were left wondering why writer Kim Eun Sook chose to include the French fashion house in the lines for the scene. Some speculated that Dior probably sponsored the drama, but the brand denied the rumors shortly after they emerged.

Insiders in the fashion industry assume that the writer might have included the brand to highlight the character’s bold femininity. Dior has showcased designs that bring out femininity more than other fashion brands such as Louis Vuitton and Gucci.

They added, “Such feminine features of the brand’s product must have appealed to Ha Do Young who likes things being neat both entertainingly and aesthetically.”
