Netflix confirmed a new series titled Doona! (working title) starring Suzy and Yang Se Jong.
The upcoming romance drama tells the story of an ordinary college freshman named Won Joon and an ex-K-pop celebrity named Doo Na who end up living together in a shared house. The series is based on a popular Naver webtoon of the same name which tells a romantic love story of an ordinary college student and his idol-turned-housemate as they create a dream-like campus life together.
Suzy will play Lee Doo Na, the main vocalist of a famous K-pop idol group and the center of popularity who announces her sudden retirement and enters a shared house in a college town.
Starring alongside her is Yang Se Jong, playing an extremely ordinary college freshman named Lee Won Joon. Although he has no special talent or background, Won Joon has a warm and pure heart and provides Doo Na with a shoulder to cry on and an ear to bend.
Director Lee Jung Hyo behind Crash Landing on You, Romance Is a Bonus Book, Life on Mars, and The Good Wife will helm the series.
