Netflix shared the synopsis of The Glory, written by Kim Eun Sook. The Glory tells the tale of a woman who puts an elaborate revenge scheme in motion to make the perpetrators pay for their crimes years after surviving horrific abuse in high school.

Synopsis

Dong Eun (played by Song Hye Kyo) was bullied at school because she was born to a poor single mom. Laughter was lost and the soul crumbled to powder. It was good weather to die, so she went to die. Perhaps it was the fog that saved her that day — the thick fog made it impossible to see an inch ahead. While crying over her bad luck, she laughed out loud, feeling so sorry for herself. And she realized. Why me? There is no forgiveness, therefore no one can get into heaven.

The word “sheltered life” may have been coined due to Yeo Jeong (Lee Do Hyun). Not knowing how cold it was outside, Yeo Jeong was trying to get through a bitter winter after a nightmarish incident. And after seeing the scars on Dong Eun’s arms and legs, he made up his mind to become a fool who dances with swords, not her prince. So he decided to use the scalpel in his hand a little differently. He’s going to be very coldhearted from now on.

When brought into the world, Yeon Jin (Lim Ji Yeon) had it already on her side. Thanks to her parents continuously showing blind love for their daughter, who is a school bully, she had no need to make an effort to reflect on her misbehaviors. Yeonjin’s life was just like a white night. However, she was not aware that Dong Eun, who survived the polar night in the opposite hemisphere, was walking towards her on a white night.

At first, I thought it was my fault. People agreed too. I thought I could just grin and bear it. But that was not right. Hyeon Nam (Yeom Hye Ran) made up her mind. Huge waves are scary because they are difficult to predict while swallowing everything in an instant. Moon Dong Eun seems to be the way to do that, somehow.

Life was as clear as a checkerboard to Do Yeong (Jung Sung Il). Just like allies and enemies, my family and your family, and yes or no — it was a world of black and white, where nothing obscure could intervene. But one day, he started to become interested in a woman who is hazy like fog. Eventually, he found himself chasing after her. He knows. Black has an advantage over white both in life and in a Baduk match. His life had been all black until it just became white.

Jae Joon (Park Sung Hoon) stands out wherever he goes and lives as a top dog. Because of problems regarding alcohol, women, gambling or assault, he spends most of his time with his lawyer. Nevertheless, he amasses his wealth every day. He recently got something he wanted so badly. Knowing that is a trap set up by Dong Eun, it is already too late to stop it.

The Glory will be released on December 30th.
