Lee Jung Jae briefly mentioned his upcoming TV series The Acolyte.
On the 19th (local time), Lee Jung Jae traveled to London to attend the 7th London Asian Film Festival. There, the actor conducted an exclusive interview with Yonhap News.
During the interview, Lee Jung Jae talked about landing the male lead of the new Star Wars series Acolyte. “I can’t talk about the role because I signed the non-disclosure agreement,” he opened up. “But there will be an official announcement soon.”
The Squid Game star added, “This is my first foreign project, and it’s my first time being a part of such a mega-scale project, so all I can do is just follow along, thinking that this is how it works here.” However, he talked about what he’s preparing for the role. “I’m diligently preparing my English. I have to be ready since the filming will start soon.”
Meanwhile, Lee Jung Jae has landed the male lead in the new Disney Plus Star Wars series The Acolyte from Lucasfilm. Amandla Steinberg and Jodie Turner-Smith have joined the cast, and Leslye Headland tapped as the series director, writer, exec producer and showrunner. The Acolyte is a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging Dark Side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.
