Little Women writer Jeong Seo Gyeong briefly opened up about the on-screen relationship dynamics between Kim Go Eun and Wi Ha Jun in an interview for the series.
Regarding Wi Ha Jun’s character of Choi Do Il, she said, “I am so happy that his character received much love. Do Il plays the brain of the series and comes up with plans he provides assistants with to make them work. However, more and more viewers began focusing on the emotions and relationship dynamics between him and In Joo. The director also noticed the two’s evolving relationship and liked it very much. So, I decided to write a story about the two to meet everyone’s expectations. It’s not that I don’t want them to be together, but I thought she should focus more on her own growth and be more independent as she is a relationship-oriented person.”
She also shared, “I think that if there had been a 13th episode, Do Il and In Joo would have been together. The two needed more time to fully open their hearts to each other. They would have gotten a happy ending in the bonus episode. In Joo was the person Do Il chose to love. If he had to fall in love with someone and had to spend the rest of his life with that person, it would have been In Joo.”
