TWICE’s leader Jihyo has quietly made a major real estate investment, purchasing a building in Seoul’s trendy Seongsu-dong area for 4 billion KRW (approximately $2.9 million).

Herald Economy reported on May 2nd that official records confirm Jihyo acquired the building in early March 2023. She paid the full amount in cash, with no mortgage registered on the property.

In April 2023, Jihyo registered as a private rental business operator and completed the necessary documentation for private rental housing. This status provides certain tax benefits but includes regulations, such as restrictions on rent increases and a minimum rental period.

Constructed in 1986, the building is a three-story structure with one underground floor. Classified as a neighborhood living facility, it is located in a high-traffic area, just a 10-minute walk from Seongsu’s popular café street and approximately 15 minutes from Seongsu Station on Seoul Subway Line 2.

The property’s land area is 152 m², with a total floor space of 330.21 m². Based on the land size, the purchase price equates to approximately 86.99 million KRW per 3.3 m².

Meanwhile, Jihyo and TWICE are preparing to release their fifth Japanese best album, #TWICE5, on May 14th.
