BTS received a standing ovation and resounding applause for their performance of “Butter” at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards held on April 4th. Billboard chose this performance as the greatest Grammy staging of all time. Rolling Stone also ranked it as the 13th great Grammy performance of all time.
During the show, V was seen transformed into James Bond, whispering in Olivia Rodrigo’s ear. This sweet moment sent his fans into a frenzy. BBC reported that BTS’ performance was as ‘smooth’ as buttercream, and V’s short skit with Olivia Rodrigo was the most iconic moment at the event. The outlet added that it was unclear what those honeyed words were when the superstar showed her a card and whispered sweet nothings in her ear. They also jokingly commented, “The female pop star was clearly in shock, worrying about thousands of emails from his jealous fans.” BBC then posted the sweet photos V had taken with Lady Gaga and said that this photo should be kept secret from Olivia.
The singer himself later replied to the several questions coming from ARMYs about the interaction. V shared, “It was just an important business. You know what I’m saying, right? It wasn’t even English.” Another fan later added that Olivia acted so surprised after hearing what he said and the star revealed that he did not speak Korean as well. So what exactly did he say? He did not give a clear answer but called the American singer-songwriter a hero when a fan praised her acting skills.
