Netflix’s ‘Sweet Home’ and ‘Move to Heaven’ Nominated at the 2021 AACA

Netflix’s Sweet Home and Move to Heaven were selected as the 2021 AACA National Winners, winning several major nominations.

AACA (Asian Academy Creative Awards) is Asia’s largest content awards ceremony that reviews and awards exceptional Asian content every year. This year’s event will be held in Singapore from December 2nd to 3rd this year. In short, the event selects winners in the fields of actors, dramas, variety shows, branded content, and documentaries.

Last year, Crash Landing on You and The Cursed won the Best Drama Series and the Best Original Screenplay, respectively.

Netflix original series Sweet Home tells a bizarre and shocking story that a loner high school student Hyun Soo experiences in an apartment where he moved after losing his family. The series won five nominations: Best Director (Lee Eung Bok), Best Actress (Lee Si Young), Best Supporting Actress (Go Min Si), Best Supporting Actor (Lee Do Hyun), and Best Visual Effect.

Having captivated viewers with a powerful story and overwhelming visual effects, Sweet Home had ranked 1st in Netflix’s Today’s Top 10 in 13 countries just four days after the release. Moreover, the drama also landed within the Top 10 in more than 70 regions.

In addition, Move to Heaven won two nominations: Best Drama Series and Best Actor (Lee Je Hoon). The series follows Geu Roo, a boy with Asperger’s syndrome, and his uncle Sang Goo as they deliver the deceased’s untold stories to the people he loved. The work conveyed sympathy and healing through a warm gaze towards life, death, and people.
