EXO’s Chanyeol, INFINITE’s Kim Myung Soo, and B.A.P.’s Daehyun will star in the upcoming military musical ‘Meissa’s Song’ (literal title).
On the 23rd, the new musical Meissa’s Song announced the full cast. This new musical is set in two countries with completely different cultures: Kamur, a fictional country suffering from a prolonged civil war, and Korea, where the K-pop audition is held. The story follows Raman, born and raised in Kamur, as he comes to Korea to look for the dispatched soldier Meissa, who gave him dreams and hopes.
First, Chanyeol will play Raman, who comes to Korea to take part in a K-pop audition. Rahman grew up experiencing various Korean cultures through the Gaon troop of the U.N. Peacekeeping Forces dispatched to Kamur. Thanks to them, he’s fluent in Korean.
In addition, Kim Myung Soo (aka L) and B.A.P.’s Daehyun take on the role of Yeon Joon Seok. He volunteers to be dispatched to Kamur per his friend’s suggestion. Before, he has lived without a special dream or goal and only conformed to his parents’ demands. However, he faces through the time he spent in Kamur.
Moon Yong Suk (non-celebrity private first class) plays Yoon Seon Ho, who dreams of working for the U.N. in the future to help people and contribute to world peace. He suggests that his friend Yeon Joon Seok volunteer to be dispatched, and they go to Kamur together. Moreover, musical stars Brad Little and Michael Lee will be starring as the commanding officer at the headquarters for the U.N. peacekeeping forces.
Meanwhile, in the musical Meissa’s Song, the fictional country of Kamur and Korea and the present and the past constantly intersect and unfold. The different cultures and ideologies are expressed with sounds of various genres, including K-pop.
Meissa’s Song will hold an online performance from October 15th to 17th.
