Han Hyo Joo appeared on the cover of the October issue of Harper’s Bazaar Korea.
In the interview followed by her photoshoot, she expressed her thoughts on her new movie The Pirates 2, by saying, “These days, I put more value toward creating a project together especially because I’ve worked with most of the actors in this project in other works. So, to some extent, I can tell that it would be a fun experience to film a movie together with those people.
She also explained how much she liked playing her character in The Pirates 2. “The character I played, Hae Rang, is a very progressive woman with a great sense of leadership. I liked that about her a lot. As a pirate leader, she leads countless men. I couldn’t even recall if I was playing a boy or girl after some time had passed, and I just felt like we were going on an exciting and adventurous journey together.”
Then, she continued by opening up on what character she wants to play in the future. She said, “In my twenties, I did many romance movies. When I turned 30, I did many action movies and stunts. These days, I want to do works that convey messages about our society or play the roles that need highly professional skills. Nowadays, I’m looking at what messages I can deliver to the audience through movies and drama series, and what stories I can tell as an actress.”
