The two Grand Prizes went to Yoo Jae Suk and Lee Joon Ik.

The 57th Baeksang Art Awards, hosted by Shin Dong Yup, was held at KINTEX on the 13th. And this star-studded event honored some of the greatest achievements in TV, film, and theater last year.

Last night, Yoo Jae Suk became the first comedian to win two Baeksang Grand Prizes. In his acceptance speech, he shared, “I debuted as a comedian back in 1991. I will continue to focus on my career and try to make more people laugh in delight.” He then added, “I think we’ve reached a time when we need to show more interest and love in our culture and tradition that we take for granted.”

The Book of Fish director Lee Joon Ik was honored with the Grand Prize for the film category. “So many staff devoted and sacrificed themselves to reduce the production cost. We got the award because actors prioritized devotion and sacrifice before their profits.”

Awards for Best Drama and Best Film went to Beyond Evil and Samjin Company English Class. But this wasn’t the end of Beyond Evil’s glowing achievements. It took a total of three awards, Best Drama, Best Actor, and Best Screenplay. Voice of Silence actor Yoo Ah In and The Call actress Jeon Jong Seo each picked up the Best Actor and the Best Actress trophies.
