Director Roh Deok and actress Jeon Yeo Been will be joining the new Netflix original series Glitch.
On March 15th, Netflix announced, “We have decided to join director Roh Deok and actress Jeon Yeo Been in the original series Glitch. We started preparing for the filming in earnest.” Glitch centers around a woman searching for her boyfriend, who disappeared with a flash of an unidentified light. With the help of the UFO community members, she uncovers the truth behind a mysterious secret.
Glitch is the new project by screenwriter Jin Han Sae, who presented a refreshing surprise with his feature-length debut series Extracurricular. Director Roh Deok, who is the genius of genre variations, will helm the production. Roh burst into the movie industry with the film Very Ordinary Couple that delicately and acrimoniously captured the changes of a long-time couple. She was recognized for her sensuous directing ability and won the Best Feature Film (Asian New Talent) at the 16th Shanghai International Film Festival.
She recently directed SF8: Manxin, which depicts the near future where people have an unwavering belief in an AI fortunetelling service. With every work, Roh challenged new genres and proved her broad spectrum. In the series, she will capture Ji Hyo and UFO community members’ journey. As they chase mysterious beings within the bounds of mystery, comedy, and thriller, the show will be providing overwhelming immersion and colorful pleasure.
Jeon Yeo Been joined the project as the main character Hong Ji Hyo, adding expectations. In 2017, Jeon announced a monster rookie’s birth by winning unanimous votes with the film After My Death. Since then, she solidified her position as a leading actress through works like Forbidden Dream, Secret Zoo, Be Melodramatic, Vincenzo, and Night in Paradise. She will give off her unique charm by portraying Hong Ji Hyo, who approaches the mystery with UFO community members’ help.
