An official from the drama department reported to Daily Sports on the 9th that Junho and Lee Se Young is to lead MBC’s new Wed-Thurs series, Red Cuff of the Sleeve.
This will be Junho’s first work after returning from military services, and Lee Se Young’s return to the small screens.
Red Cuff of the Sleeve is the story of the birth mother of Crown Prince Mun Hyo, Royal Noble Consort Ui of the Changnyeong Seong clan (aka Ui Bin Seong), who started as a court lady and rose to the first senior rank. It captures the dramatic changes in her life as an ordinary court lady who becomes the mother of the nation’s grand crown prince.
Junho will be playing the role of Lee San, Jeongjo of Joseon who was born in the mainline of descent and thus sits in the seat of the crown prince. He tries to become the ideal successor that his grandfather Yeongjo wants, but carries his father’s death as trauma.
Meanwhile, Lee Se Young is to transform as Ui Bin Seong. She is to portray the detailed coming-of-age of the character as she grows and overcomes a huge crisis that wiped out her whole family.
Jung Jee In of Radiant Office and Hold Me Tight will be directing the upcoming series, and it will be aired after Namkoong Min and Park Ha Sun’s The Black Sun.
