IZ* ONE’s Ahn Yujin, Treasure’s Jihoon and NCT’s Sungchan have been selected as the new MCs of Inkigayo.
According to SPOTVNEWS, IZ* ONE’s Ahn Yujin, Treasure’s Jihoon and NCT’s Sungchan will be acting as new Inkigayo MCs from next month.
Ahn Yujin is a member of IZ*ONE, the K-pop girl group with the largest cumulative album sales in 2020, and has been loved for her bright and lovely visuals. Jihoon is the leader of Treasure, the group that ranked No. 1 in Twitter’s “Rising K-pop Artist” ranking last year, while Sungchan is the new member of NCT.
These three idols will be replacing Monsta X’s Minhyuk, April’s Naeun and NCT’s Jaehyun, who hosted the show for a year and four months.
Inkigayo producer Jung Il Seung shared, “The past year I have directed Inkigayo, of all the singers I’d seen, Jihoon, Sungchan and Yujin especially exuded fresh and energetic charm. In the COVID-19 era where fans can’t be together, it’s necessary to deliver pleasant energy through the screen, and a few days ago at the first meeting, I was convinced that these three members can play that role better than anyone else.”
Ahn Yujin, Jihoon and Sungchan will make their first greetings as MCs on March 7.
