BTS has set yet another jaw-dropping record.
On Jan 31 (local time), the colorful ensembles BTS wore for their “Dynamite” MV became the top-selling item at an event hosted by Julien’s Auctions.
According to MusiCares, the estimated price for the entire collection was around $20,000 to $40,000, but the actual bid that won the items was $162,500, 8 times higher the amount the organizer estimated.
MusiCares began auctioning off BTS’s MV outfits through Julien’s Auctions via online, and the event lasted for an hour with 17 people participating. The final bid reached $162,500, and Japanese art collector Yusaku Maezawa and YouTuber HIKAKIN were the buyers.
The next top seller at $96,000 was a painting of Snoop Dogg’s self-portrait dog wearing a “Doggy Style 25” gold chain signed by Snoop himself.
Meanwhile, the entire proceeds from the auction will provide help to artists and music community professionals facing difficult times amid the pandemic.
