Moong Ga Young is encouraging viewers to support her as she gets internally stronger and more confident in True Beauty

True Beauty is a rom-com where Ju Kyung, who gets prettier by makeup because she is insecure about her looks, meets Su Ho who has his own pains, and they grow by getting to know each other’s secrets. Viewers send enthusiastic responses as the show demonstrates a heart-fluttering romance, a touching friendship, and a cheerful comedy.

Moon Ga Young is supported and liked by many viewers as she plays the role of Im Ju Kyung, who hates being exposed about her makeover more than anything. Attention is paid to her childhood of abandonment and low self-esteem which were due to her looks.

The reason behind all the support for her is her positive attitude. Whilst in a situation that was inescapable, she did not take extreme measures but instead chose to find a breakthrough point with makeup. She lives a completely different life than before, with her friends, after being known as the ‘Goddess of Makeover’ demonstrating the makeup skills she worked hard for. Though she hid behind a mask of makeup, Ju Kyung’s change to become more confident and bright is something that lights up people’s faces.

Ju Kyung also becomes healthier on the inside as she meets people like Su Ho, her ‘Self-esteem protector.’ He especially opened his heart to Ju Kyung who was bare-faced when they met at the comic book store. He praises and makes her feel confident by saying “You’re pretty even without makeup,” and “You’re enough for me.” In response Ju Kyung faces Su Ho without make-up and reveals her past to Su Jin, disclosing the true self she had been hiding behind the makeup.

Ju Kyung also drew attention as she courageously saved Ju Hye Min from her bully Park Sae Mi in the last episode. Her trauma and fears of getting recognized changed into confidence and this warmed viewers’ hearts.

Above all, Ju Kyung’s changes encourage viewers to look forward to her future improvements. At the end of episode 12, Ju Kyung fell into panic as she saw a post on Sae Bom High’s anonymous page calling her out as the past ‘dumpling servant.’ However, as Ju Kyung’s low self-esteem has been growing and improving day by day, how she will respond is worth keeping an eye out for. This is the reason why viewers have no choice but to cheer on Ju Kyung, who grows a step further after overcoming struggles.
