Ko Young Wook’s Instagram was deleted only a day after it was opened.
On November 14, Ko Young Wook wrote on his Twitter, “My Instagram account has been shut down. I didn’t block the comments and only allowed those I followed to comment on my posts. I planned to add to the follower list gradually. And I was trying to reply to all the messages I received, but I was blocked. I would like to thank those who have shown interest in this short time.”
On November 12, Ko Young Wook opened up his Instagram account and left a message, “I want to communicate with the world carefully from now on.” But a day later, his account was shut down. Netizens suspect that Instagram’s rule that states “convicted sex offenders cannot use the site” is the reason why his account has been closed.
Meanwhile, Ko was arrested in 2013 for sexually harassing and assaulting three underage girls. He was then sentenced to two and a half years of prison, three years of wearing an ankle monitor, and five years of being listed on a sex offender registry.
He served his time and was released from prison in July 2015, and removed his ankle bracelet in July 2018.
