Recently, SM Entertainment released Ningning’s teaser video titled “SYNK, NINGNING.” First seen drawing pictures on a wall, Ningning showed off her perfect singing skills. Soon, she was joined by her avatar, “ae-Ningning.”
As SM earlier announced, Ningning is an 18-year-old Chinese member with excellent singing techniques.
However, what caught the most attention about the teaser video was two things: the fact that Ningning’s singing resembles S.E.S.’s Bada and that her avatar looks more like BLACKPINK’s Lisa.
S.E.S. was a South Korean girl group formed in 1997 by SM Entertainment. The group’s main vocalist Bada was recognized for her outstanding vocals from her debut and is still one of the most-loved female singers.
At the same time, some netizens started to say that Ningning’s avatar is more look-alike of BLACKPINK’s Lisa. Comparing “ae-Ningning” and Lisa at “2018 SBS Gayo Daejeon,” they wrote, “Wow, if I hadn’t known that it was Ningning, I would have thought it was Lisa’s avatar,” or “From hairstyle, facial features to clothings, she does look like Lisa.”
