Choi Jong Bum, who was put on trial for assaulting and threatening the late Goo Hara, has been sentenced to one year in prison. The charges of illegally filming Goo Hara without her consent was once again ruled not guilty.

On Oct. 15, the Supreme Court announced that they upheld the original ruling that sentenced Choi, who was indicted for filming, injuring, and blackmail, to one year in prison on charges under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act.

Most of the charges, including property damage, injury, blackmail, and coercion, were admitted, but the charges of illegal filming were found innocent as in the first and second trials.

Choi has been on trial for allegedly bruising Goo Hara’s arms and legs and threatening to “distribute sex videos” during a fight in September 2018. He is also suspected of filming Goo’s body without consent.
