Trot Singer Kwon Do Woon, the Second Korean Celeb to Come Out of the Closet, Joins the Justice Party

Trot singer Kwon Do Woon (real name Kwon Hyuk Min) joined the Justice Party, a political party in South Korea.

According to the singer’s agency MIDUM Entertainment, Kwon Do Woon recently chose to join the Justice Party after coming out as gay on Oct. 6.

Earlier, Kwon declared that he had publicly come out of the closet to open the horizon of sexual minorities’ human rights and encourage other celebrities who are having a hard time. Regarding the reason for his decision to join the Justice Party, he said, “I want to participate in social activities to promote the human rights of sexual minorities, and I thought joining the Justice Party could be the first step.”

Since coming out as gay, Kwon has been showing in various places, including becoming a member of Solidarity for LGBT Human Rights of Korea on Oct. 11.

Meanwhile, Kwon is actively promoting his new song “Casanova” and appears as a regular guest on the YouTube channel “Namolla Family Hot Show” every Thursday.
